A Good Good Friday

Apart from the religious holiday, gatherings at East Coast Park.
This year's Good Friday I've gotten a.... Digital SLR!!! HAHAHA

Oh by the way, I must encourage all of you to watch The Passion of the Christ
It's not a religious movies neither is it a pastor preaching.
It's a film detailing the final hours and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Which I find it very informative and most importantly, the love of God.
This movie has a mixed review and extremely violent.

Anywayz. Say "HI" to my new baby (: (: (:

Long weekend is here!!!! (Although it doesn't make a different for me)

Movie Preview: Contraband (2012)

Realized that I've not done any camwhoring in a long long time. I mean like I used to be sucha hardcore spammer but I kind of tone down a bit as I get older. I also don't carry a camera as often as I used to ): Missed High Quality pictures sometimes 'cos Iphone's 5mp really cannot make it but they've such nice filters!! (and face looked so much better using the sucky front camera, lol) If I'm free I would probably post up the gazillions numbers of photographgy apps I've and show you guys my favorite ones.

Extremely adorable Iphone cover Tingwen bought. Yes, all the photos are taken from Instagram lah, feel so retarded posting up again -___-

Alright, here am I with Xinyi with our tickets for Contraband.
Just in case all, here's the trailer.

Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter, The Other Guys) leads the cast of Contraband, a fast-paced thriller about a man trying to stay out of a world he worked so hard to leave behind and the family he’ll do anything to protect.  Set in New Orleans, the film explores the cutthroat underground world of international smuggling—full of desperate criminals and corrupt officials, high-stakes and big payoffs—where loyalty rarely exists and death is one wrong turn away.

Chris Farraday (Wahlberg) long ago abandoned his life of crime, but after his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones of X-Men: First Class, No Country for Old Men), botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (GIOVANNI RIBISI of Avatar, Public Enemies), Chris is forced back into doing what he does best—running contraband—to settle Andy’s debt.  Chris is a legendary smuggler and quickly assembles a crew with the help of his best friend, Sebastian (Ben Foster), to head to Panama and return with millions in counterfeit bills.

Things quickly fall apart and with only hours to reach the cash, Chris must use his rusty skills to successfully navigate a treacherous criminal network of brutal drug lords, cops and hit men before his wife, Kate (Kate Beckinsale of Underworld series, The Aviator), and sons become their target.

Contraband coming to you in theaters January 12. (:
Thanks to OMY SG for this opportunity once again
♥ ♥ ♥

And because we did not have enough meat at poh poh mokata the night before hence we were like

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition (Singapore)

Couple of months ago, I happened to saw an advertisment on this exhibition and I was like "OMG, I MUST VISIT IT". So I messaged Kenny and the next thing I knew, we were there. I'm soooooooo excited about it.

A background information about RMS Titanic:
On 15 April 1912, the RMS Titanic met an untimely end when it sank after colliding with an iceberg in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. The accident claimed the lives of over 1,500 passengers, who brought with them hopes that were never realised and dreams that never came true.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition features 275 artifacts recovered from the Ship's wreckage. It was really an emotional and unique experience for us. I left the exhibition with a heavy heart 'cos during that time nobility and rich lives while the poor suffer. There's a board at the end that listed all (most of) the names and whole chunk of survivors are from the first class. Life's unfair.

Oh anyway. Photography are not allowed in the exhibition but I saw people snapping away. Just be alert lah.

A showcase of replica 1st class hallway. I'm like omg, I felt that I'm actually INSIDE titanic.
I couldnt hold back my excitement and touched every thing. Lol.

That the 1st class room looked like.
A 3rd class ticket on Titanic to New Tork cost $40 ( about $900 today) and a 1st class is $4,500 for a price of a luxuary suite (around $103 000 totay)

Kenny and his 3rd class hallway. Not very impressive. Heh.
If you're wondering why I wrote "his 3rd class" and "my 1st class" it's because we were given a replica boarding ticket with the names of the passenger and what class they belonged to.
Like I said, you are supposed to figure out whether they survived or they don't. ( most probably survived if you're from 1st class)

3rd class passengers traveling on Titanic were mostly European immigrants looking for better life in America.
A 3rd class cabin would likely be occupied by up to four strangers who spoke different languages.

On the night of April 14, 1912, the waters of the North Atlantic were below freezing close to 28 degrees Fahrenheit(about -2.2 degrees Celsius). Becuase salt water freezes at a lower temperature than freshwater, the saltwater ocean was colder that night that this freshwater iceberg.
As a result, most of those lost during Titanic's sinking did not die from drowning.
They died from hypothermia- rapid mental and physical collapse that accompanies the lowering of body temperature.

You can read this, I'm not gonna type it out 'cos its too gek xim ):
Claimed to be the "Unsinkable" ship hence reduced to 20 lifeboat and during the Ship's disaster only TWO of the lifeboats were filled to capacity, all the otheres carried fewer than they could have. Most of the lifeboat launched with just 19 of the possible 65 people on board. THEY COULD SAVED EXTRA 46 PEOPLE!!!
Not forgetting that only first 2 were filled to capacity. So if I used 46 * 18 = 828 PEOPLEEEEEE??
Not to mention that lifeboat comes in different sizes, the first seven lifeboats to launch carried a mere 160 out of a possible 430....WHATTTTT? ): ): ):

Last few photo before I end this post. This exhibition showcase not just the rooms, iceberg and all. They've a replica Titanic's deck, boiler room, the famous grand staircase.
I regretted not taking (professional = need to pay lah) photos at the grand staircase.

As you can see that the ones we saw in the movie is not 100% correct.
Oh, you can visit http://www.chasingthefrog.com/reelfaces/titanic.php for more facts about Titanic.
Quite interesting actually. Really amazed by how the "Reel" and "Real" faces looked sooooo alike!!!

Another interesting and heart wrenching scenes from Titanic.

Did some of the passengers choose to go down with the ship?

http://www.chasingthefrog.com/reelfaces/titanic/isaida.jpg

Yes. Near the end of the movie Titanic, we see an old couple embracing in bed as water pours into their cabin. The couple is first class passengers Isador and Ida Straus (left). Isador was the co-owner of Macy's department store. In real life, Isador and Ida were both offered a place on Lifeboat No. 8, but Isador chose to stay on the Titanic so long as there were women who remained on the ship. Ida refused to abandon her husband. Witnesses on the deck and in Lifeboat No. 8 heard Ida tell her husband, "We have been living together for many years. Where you go, I go." The couple was last seen sitting on a pair of deck chairs (not lying in bed like in the movie). Only Isador's body was recovered and identified.

and also the aftermath of the Titanic disaster. Thumbs up for this exhibition and I really enjoyed it. Not really happy enjoy but you get to understand how it happens and what they did to prevent it (NONE!)
Sigh. What can I say? This is humanity.

Watch the trailer now! Footloose musical is so contagious, keep singing the song non-stop.

Writer/Director Craig Brewer (“Hustle & Flow,” “Black Snake Moan”) delivers a new take of the beloved 1984 classic film, “Footloose.”

Bet most of you guys here did not heard of the classic "Footloose (1984)"

Starring newcomer, Kenny Wormald.
"Grew up in Stoughton, Massachusetts, and began taking dancing lessons at the age of six. He won a string of dance contests throughout the North East in his teens and took to dancing professionally. He worked as a dancer and choreographer, appearing in a number of music videos and touring with Justin Timberlake."

Having a real dancer in a movie is so important, it makes the movie runs smoothly without any hiccups and you get to see the best, close up movements!!
Kenny Wormald was so hot in the movie, he was dripping wet in the middle dancing - simply amazing dace moves, you gotta watch it!!

Julianne Hough.
"Raised in Utah, the youngest child of 5 children. Her mother is Mari Anne and her father is Bruce Robert Hough, a twice chairman of the Utah Republican Party. Her parents met in college, when they were both part of a ballroom dancing team." -Source taken from IMDB

Yet another with the dancing gene.
I think throughout the movie I was starring at her. I preferred her in dark brow hair than her blonde. Her current hair makes her eye look so so so creppy ):

Anyway, stare at her tummy if you have the chance to watch it. DAMN SEXY :D :D :D

Synopsis:
Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) is transplanted from  Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences   a heavy dose of culture shock.  A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont’s local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing.   Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister’s troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process.

The movie was nice, everything was awesome. I recommend those people out there who love dancing, you will enjoy it as much as I do  ♥
