In the continuation of Part 1, we took the 捷運 to Taipei City Hall Station. From there, they provide free shutter buses to Mr.J 義法廚房II.
As I made a reservation at 12.30pm we decided to take the 11am bus.
We arrived at Taipei City Hall before 11am and there's no where to shop ):
(They open at 11 ++ )
The station also has 2 major malls Eslite and Shinkong Mitsukoshi (新光三越, another shopping mall which I personally like 'cos they sell lots of famous cosmetics brands at level 1 and served really good afternoon tea at level 2. Will blog about it again) nearby.
I was drooling away outside 新光三越 , NARS flagship stall!!!
Currently my fav base and gloss :D Heard from one of their SA that they're bringing it over end of the year!!!

Mad love this brand. ULTRA MINTY!! The first time I had it was at HK and damn, it was so good especially chewing it on a cooling weather.

After you've alighted (the shutter bus will stop outside the hospital) walk diagonally across the road and you will see this road. Pretty flowers at your left.
Walk all the way to the end and turn left. You will see the restaurant.
The resaurant is situated in the campus of Taipei Medical University, which is also beside 台醫店.

We ordered 2 lunch sets which include soup of the day, garlic bread, salad, drinks and main course.

Very nice salad with Japanese dressing.
Chicken curry spaghetti. I realized in Taiwan, they always served Japanese curry instead of the traditional curry ( you know those we always had at home... or SG curry noodle etc.)

(PS; I've a screen at the side, in case you're wondering why we're looking at the right side in some of our photos, :p )
Major love for 誠品書店 (Xinyi District Branch). One of the largest bookstores in Taiwan focusing on arts and humanities-related books. Oh and and and they've a 24 hour outlet at 敦化北路 *gasp*
They sell almost anything and everything you can think of, they even have a cafe inside the bookstore and sofas for you to rest while browsing your books!! How thoughtful (:
誠品店 is a mall occupying at the first level, 誠品書店 has 5 freaking levels and I freak out -___- hahaha
Magazines, craft books and new arrivals are on the 2nd floor. Everything else from Japanese books, cookery, art and design to manga, literature and language is on the 3rd floor.
If I'm not wrong there's one level specially for Japanese books.

They even sell Lomography cameras!!! And films!!!
Fashion magazines are available (in all sorts of languages) too!

So last night when I went to bed I suddenly remembered that I forgotten to blog about my first night market experience ):
After shopping at 新光三越, we went back to hotel to put our loots and head out to 五分埔.
Clothes there are average about $8-$15 (if you bargain hard enough). They have bags of clothes on the floor, streets and everywhere. Pratically most of the shops are selling the same thing and 五分埔 covered the whole area all the way till 饒河街觀光夜市!! I love love love the food there.

Alight at 后山埤 station *BLUE LINE*
Take exit 1, walk straight you will see the famous 胡须张鲁肉饭 at your right.
Make sure you try their lu rou fan!!!! Love it so much :D
Cross the road, continue walking straight and you will come across shops selling clothes.
Yup that IS 五分埔
Lu Rou Fan!!! Ordered 3 dishes to share 'cos we know that we are gonna eat a lot over at 饒河夜市
Herbal Chicken Soup.
After shopping at 五分埔, all you need to do is to ASK the locals where is 饒河夜市.
You have to be prepared that it may seems like a short walk to 饒河夜市 'cos you're shopping at the same time when it's time to go back to 后山埤 station, you really can walk till you die -___-
What I would recommend is to take 火車 aka 台铁 from Songshan railway station (松山火車站)
Alight at Taipei Main Station and change to their MRT(捷運)
Okay so in another words, 五分埔 is inbetween 后山埤 station and Songshan railway station. 饒河夜市 is just beside 饒河夜市. Clear??
If you get lost just ASK the locals, they are super friendly. Dont worry (:
My fav!!!! I will never forget my first bite of this. It's like pancake with pearls and 奶油.
Damn good combination I swear!

饒河夜市 is consider a smaller 夜市 as compared to Shilin. But the food there you can't find in Shilin!
